In 2014 flash floods came thru. It was called the 500 year flood. While we are in a flood plain and saw our roads covered in water when the nearby creek overflowed its banks, our house somehow was not damaged. But the other side of the creek is not in flood plain, yet there were many damaged flooded houses. Weird. Then a couple weeks ago another flash flood came thru. The creek overflowed again, but we were fine. But the other side of the creek again had water in their houses. After 30 years in this house, it is time to go thru room by room and donate/discard unused and unwanted stuff. We may not be so fortunate next time a flash flood comes thru...bluebird
P.S.
Miss reading your commentary at The Automatic Earth.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2703718837080088488.post-54640103342235085942017-07-22T22:31:01.314-05:002017-07-22T22:31:01.314-05:00No. We live in North East Valley on Baldwin St (wo...No. We live in North East Valley on Baldwin St (world's steepest street) so we only got some slipping under the edge of the house (not hard to fix fortunately).

vivknutty knitterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00325560883289908412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2703718837080088488.post-76618277531617274012017-07-22T09:36:29.727-05:002017-07-22T09:36:29.727-05:00Heather- the blueberries sound good. Fortunately all were well prepared this time so damage will not be as great as in 2015. Its also winter so no crop damage to speak of. Just miles of water everywhere.

vivknutty knitterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00325560883289908412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2703718837080088488.post-75831443047205205642017-07-21T12:46:28.371-05:002017-07-21T12:46:28.371-05:00I hope your area doesn't get flooded. Well, I ...I hope your area doesn't get flooded. Well, I hope the other folks can hold up as well of course, but it seems inevitable at some point with this summer's weather.

Most recent storm went to one side of us this week. The series of storms going through so far has made haying something of a challenge.

In good news, our blueberries are pretty happy.

- Heather G (western MA)shadowfoothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16024745044730301470noreply@blogger.com
